MYTILINI
|

Mytilini is the capital of Lesbos,
situated about 3km from the airport
and is built amphitheatrically around
the harbor. Over the harbor-area on
a small mountain you will see the
Byzantine Castle, which was restored
in 1373 by the Gattelusi family. Mytilini
owns a lot of museums, like the Archaeological
Museum, the Byzantine Museum, the
Teriad Museum (Modern Art) as well
as the Theofilos Museum. Around the
harbor, which is the center of activity,
you will find restaurants, tavernas,
bars, kafenios, fast food restaurants
and boat agencies. Parallel to the
main road, which is around the harbor,
there is the central market street
Ermou, which offers anything you can
buy.

| SKALA KALLONI |

Skala Kalloni is built exactly
on the bay of Kalloni and is a popular
holiday resort on the island. Its
small harbor, with its charming tavernas
and the beautiful sandy beach invite
for an unforgettable stay in this
little fishing village. The bay of
Kalloni is famous for sardines. Every
August a sardine festival is held
and invites guest from all over the
world to live concerts and a free
dinner (sardines, bread and Ouzo).

| MOLIVOS |

Molivos was known as Mythimna
and was the second most important
town after Mytilini. This picturesque
town is a very popular place on the
island, attracting people from all
over the world, creating cosmopolitan
feeling. The village is built on a
small mountain, which a Byzantine
castle is crowning. During the summer
artistic performances like theatres,
ballets, live concerts are held in
the grounds of this castle. Molivos
is under protection of historical
monuments, which guarantee the maintenance
of the beautiful, stony houses with
its colorful windows. The harbor is
for sure the most frequented place
in town, especially in the evening
time. There you find excellent fish
tavernas, relaxing coffee bars, as
well as good music bars, for every
taste and every age. It is a pleasure,
to walk around in the cobbled streets
of the market place for shopping.
At the Beach of Molivos meet the inhabitants
of the village, try water ski, parasail
or wind surf or have just fun.

| EFTALOU |

Eftalou is about 3km from Molivos,
famous for the beautiful pebble beach
as well as the hot water springs on
the beach. There are many hotels and
restaurants in this peaceful area.

PETRA
Petra owns its name a big rock, which
is in the center of the village. On
the top of this rock is the church
Agios Nikolaos. For a visit you need
a good body condition, because 114
steps, carved into the rock, lead
you to this lovely church with a spectacular
view. The church is strongly frequented
on 15 of August for the celebration
of the assumption of Virgin Mary.
In the center are many shops, inviting
for a shopping spree and the beautiful
sandy beach offers a relaxing swim.

ANAXOS
Anaxos is about 5 km from Petra, becoming
a tourist area due to its inviting
sandy beach. Anaxos is offering a
comfortable stay in one the studios
or apartments, which are built around
the beach.

| SKALA ERESSOS |

Skala Eressos is a busy tourist village
with cosmopolitan atmosphere. It is
about 3km far away from the village
Eressos, which is the birthplace of
the famous poetess Sappho. Therefore
Skala Eressos is visited by many homosexual
women from all over the world and gives
to the lovely place a special flair.
In Skala Eressos you will find an excellent
sandy beach.

VATERA Vatera
is in the south of Lesvos
and is famous for its beautiful 8km
long sandy beach. This beach belongs
to the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
Vatera is recommended for everybody,
who is looking for peaceful holidays
without many actions.
